Happy New Year!!!!!

Hello My Friends!!! The year 2012 has come to a close and we begin a new journey into 2013.  I did not make any specific resolutions this year except the usual which are to eat healthy, stay as healthy as I have control of and to balance all of the things in my life to the best of my ability. It sounds like resolutions huh? Well, I guess they are.  Most importantly though, I have decided that I shall take one day at a time.  Life is a continual journey and each day must be savored and enjoyed.  We have so much to be grateful for too....if you would write down just one thing what you are grateful for each day, I would bet you will be surprised at all that you have.  Sometimes, we fail to see that we do have so much to be grateful for.  With that being said, I have decided to start a Gratitude Journal starting Jan. 1, 2013.  I will be using this lovely journal that Jimi bought me on our trip to Williamsburg.

I thought I would share a couple of video's that might help you in Journaling and keeping your Day Planner  organized for the New Year.

Have a Safe and Fun New Year Celebration where ever you are and I will be back to blog here soon♥

Much Love,

Tomorrow Is Christmas Eve!!!

Can you believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve?  Whew....Christmas...it is almost here!!!  We had a Christmas Party at our house last night with the Band.  It was such fun!  I made a pan of lasagne, two cream cheese spreads and Red Velvet cake balls sprinkled with icing and cocoa.  I also put out a few other snacks such as peanuts, dried cranberries, olives, chips and pretzels.  Our friends Denise and Marty, brought a tray of shrimp cocktail and a huge pan of apple strudel. In addition, all of the Band brought a bottle of their favorite alcoholic beverage to share.  It was a nice time...everyone enjoyed the food, drink and fellowship.  We also played some music of course and sang in our Music Room/Studio.  Wish I had taken some photo's...oh well.

Anyway, I did film a brief video of a last minute Shopping Haul which finally completed my Christmas Shopping.

I hope you are all enjoying the Holiday Season...I send wishes your way for a very lovely and peaceful Christmas.  Enjoy your time spent with Family and Friends and I will see you back here soon♥

Done Wrapping!

Whew...it has sure been busy around here!!!!! Today I finally finished wrapping all of the Christmas gifts and stuffed the stockings!!! Take a look at this beautiful paper I found at a thrift shoppe....
This paper is vintage and from the 1970's..love that!! What I love even more was that I paid only .99 cents for four rolls!! Yay! Great deal I say!

So I also filmed a video to let you all see the sneak peek of what is under our tree...this was filmed before I finished wrapping.  In addition, you will see a little bit of our Holiday decorating.

As usual, I will share a Christmas at The Miller's post here on my Blog shortly after Christmas.

Hope you are all having a productive and beautiful week♥

Mani Monday

Oh yeah!!! It is Mani Monday again!!!! I have not posted a Mani Monday in soooo long!  I did my nails today!

Of course with the Holidays in mind, I chose glitter. I must say however, they are a bit unconventional as far as your typical Holiday look.

I love them just the same.  What do you wear on your nails for the Holidays?

Friends and Family

This past week my friend Donna and I spent time together and filmed a couple of DIY video's.  One is how to make pie crust from scratch and the other how to make the perfect scrambled egg.  I will be working on editing them this week and should have the video's posted to my YouTube Channel very soon. As always, Donna and I have such a good time when we are together! In fact, Jimi and I really enjoy getting together with her and her Hubby John...this is a photo we took of them in a limo ride we shared together a time ago.

Also this past week, I spent time with my Mom.  We have not seen each other in quite some time so it was great to be able to see her.  She had invited me to a Christmas Party at her Country Club.  I filmed some of our time together of course.

Mom sent me home with a bunch of goodies...not sweets but clothes, shoes, scarves and stuff for the house.  I am thinking about filming a video of what she gave me. It is always fun to get new treasures.

As we get closer to Christmas...I hope that you are are able to find time to enjoy with Family and Friends...the hustle and bustle at this time can be so overwhelming!

Earlier this week, Jimi had to train for a  job that he will be working on for the next two weeks.  In the meantime, our Van needed some work and so it was in the shop. With that being said, I thought I would join him on his travel to the Airport and have him drop me off at Walmart so I could do a little shopping.  He was only going to be about an hour so I could pick up a few things while waiting for him.  I managed to find the last Christmas gift I wanted for him there and needed to buy kitty litter for our kitties.  In addition., I had been researching camera's that had video capabilities. It is time for me/us to upgrade. While at Walmart, I  ventured into the electronics Dept. to take a peek at their camera's. I did see one that I thought would be what we needed and it was in a price range that we could afford......I bought it!!! Yay! it is a Nikon Coolpix L810 with a 26x Zoom Lens.  The camera has HD recording capabilities with stereo sound too!! My Dad is a Photographer and said that it was a great deal for the specs.  I plan on still using my small hand held camera but this one will be better for all of the plans and needs I have for my Business, Milady Leela Enterprises.  Jimi and I will also be needing this for our PnL Media Promotions Company too. So we are really excited about our upgrade.  Truthfully, it is not what we really would want to have, but for now it is what we could afford and it will do.

After he picked me up, we stopped at a Thai Restaurant and enjoyed a nice light lunch.  I filmed a bit about our outing here:

Also this week, My daughter Kelly called me and asked me to help her select a new Christmas tree and decorations for her house.  We picked out a really pretty white tree and some beautiful ornaments and lights.  She decorated the tree while her Fiance was at work...it turned out super cute!!!

How are things in your world?  Are you ready for the Holiday's?

Au Naturel...Getting Back To Basics!

I have been so busy as of late...working in my Studio, creating gifts for Christmas and the Milady Leela Shoppe. http://www.miladyleela.etsy.com
Wrapping presents  and getting our home ready for the Holiday's!!!! With all of that going on, my hands and nails are a mess!  So, I have decided that it is time to get back to basics!!!

I began using my Shammy Buffer again and will be applying the Natural Nail Growth Activator to my nails two times a day (instead of one), then finishing with a good Nail Oil!!  My goal is to have my nails looking amazing by Christmas and New Years!!!! It can be achieved!!! I have been here before and know...tee hee!!

A while back, I created a ten week "Nail Tips" Series for my YouTube Channel and discuss the basics in this first video.

I would love for you to check it out and feel free to view the other nine video's in the series to learn my amazing tips.  Super simple and easy "Tips" to follow.  Let me know what you think about the video's and also, if you have any questions...leave me a comment or message and I will get back to you♥

Hungry For Breakfast?

Hello there my Friends!!! Are you hungry for Breakfast? I know I was the day my friend Donna and I filmed another Chit Chat, Coffee and Kitties DIY.  We made Peach Pancakes and here we will show you how to do it♥

So much has been going on this week!!! Oh I still have so much to do in preparation for Christmas!!! I am getting there though.  I just did a final shop and now I believe I have all that I need.  Well, there may be just a few things that I will have to get.

It is a busy time of year, we all know this!!!One of  my favorite parts of this time of year is giving gifts!!! I love to give prezzies!! I love to wrap them and make them look just as pretty as what is inside.  I will tell you though that the Best part of this time of year to me, is the peacefulness there seems to be over the earth on Christmas Eve!  all the hustle and bustle of the season seems to cease at a certain moment right before midnight....it is the most magical moment.  I know I am not the only one who feels this way.  Isn't is magical? Oh it is indeed!

Listening to Christmas music and working on my Christmas projects....need to get back to that now.
I will be back here very soon!

Getting The House Ready!!!

I have been recently getting my Living Room ready for the Holidays.  I bought these lovely mystical looking curtains from a company called Lakeside Creek.  I am so pleased with how they look♥

....and I moved the table that was under a window to use for our coffee table.  This is a table that I had designed, stained and painted quite a while ago.  I love how it turned out.

Finally,  I brought a shelf that we had stored, down from our upstairs to place under the window where the table shown above use to be.

I am loving the way it has all come together♥  Who else is getting their house ready for the Holidays?

Reflection

It is so hard to think that time is flying by so fast.....The holidays are almost here!!! I am really excited about that!!!! Before we know it, we will be into the new Year 2013!!! Gosh, so many things have happened for me in this last year.  I am sure for all of you as well.  Many changes have taken place and with that, it seems so much for the better.  Of course at the time, it does not always feel that way.  I do believe that the universe has a way of  correcting itself and that everything happens for a reason in our lives.  We must always search for the good! Take one day at a time and not let the little things get to us.  I challenge you to reflect on the things that have happened in your life over this past year.  I hope that whatever you have gone through or are going through is correcting itself with the powers of your faith and determination to see all things for the better.

We all have a lot to be thankful for this year! Even if it seems that times are hard for you right now, try to think about what you are thankful or grateful for.  I once read that starting a gratitude journal is a good way to help us see the small stuff that happens daily in our lives.  Have any of you done this?  I think it is a great idea.  While we were on Vacation in Williamsburg Virginia, Jimi bought me a lovely pocket journal. They were all so pretty, it was hard to decide which one I wanted. With some deep thought,  I finally decided on the one in my right hand.

As I type this, I am thinking that this beautiful little journal may just be the perfect place to start my own.  Yes, this is a good idea!!! I am for sure going to start a Gratitude Journal!!!

If this idea inspires you too, please leave me a comment.  I would love to hear your thoughts.

Have a beautiful day my Friends

Holiday Bread

Hello My Friends,
I mentioned in a previous post that Jimi and I had a lovely time enjoying dinner with friends last week.  I took a dessert and it was so yummy.  My recipe was requested by several of the guests at the party and by our lovely Hostess...so I thought that I would share my recipe with you too.  It is super simple to make.  If you have any questions, leave me a comment♥

Dena’s Pumpkin Bread
1 large can of Pumpkin Pie Mix
1  5 ½ ounce can of evaporated milk
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
1tsp ground ginger
½ tsp ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp ground cloves
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp butter
Extra cinnamon mixed with sugar for sprinkling in bottom of loaf pan and on top of unbaked loaf.
Mix all dry ingredients together
Mix all wet ingredients together
Incorporate dry and wet ingredients and mix well.
Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
Pour batter into loaf pan and cook @ 350 degrees for about 1 hour checking regularly by inserting a clean toothpick.
When toothpick comes out clean, loaf is complete.
Remove from oven and let cool for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Spread 2 tsp. of butter on top of warm loaf and sprinkle again with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Enjoy!

My Umbrella, Friends and Memorable Travels

I have an obsession...I must admit!  I am really loving Umbrella's.

My family and I recently traveled to Williamsburg Virginia. These photos above were taken at a really cool place called "The Pottery".  In Williamsburg, we had an amazing time discovering new territory.  We stayed in a time share and it was really lovely.

Every morning, we would have our breakfast on the porch....

This was our beautiful scenery.

Friends of ours came to stay with us for an overnight. We shared an evening of  great food and music!

I prepared a Spaghetti and Meatball dinner for us..below is our Table setting before the meal.

We also enjoyed a nice Red Wine, a wonderful salad and a great loaf of Italian Bread.  After dinner, we sang and shared some acoustic music with Jimi playing the bongo's and Topper on guitar. Topper is responsible for the music on my blog by the way.
Next morning, we all had breakfast together and then Topper and Bonnie headed home. They live in Virginia so we do not get to see them very often...It was truly a wonderful time getting together with our friends!

While in Williamsburg, I filmed a couple of video's.  Below is one from our discoveries at the Yankee Candle Store

It was an amazing place and I highly recommend visiting there if you are ever in the area.

Also I filmed our bus tour through Colonial Williamsburg.  You can watch that on my Channel by visiting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdyYF_D8s0M&feature=share&list=UUlGzqOYUCDyMblyNU9NCiAQ

I hope you have had a nice time visiting me here today.  I will be back soon and until then ...

The Little Ghost Girl named Esther

There is a story to be told about an old Victorian Mansion, a piano and a little girl who once resided there.  This spooky tale begins back in the late 1800’s when Esther, the sweet little girl lived and played in this Victorian mansion.
Her world revolved around a piano as she loved to create beautiful music.  Most of her day was centered around her piano.  In fact, she would rather play her piano than play with her dolls or even go outdoors.

At the age of 10, her piano playing was brilliant!!! Her family was immensely intrigued! Esther could write and play musical pieces as well as perform them with an ease that was astounding!

Her dream was to play piano forever and ever no matter what direction her life took her.  As the years went by Esther never seemed to age…her family found it quite absurd.  Not even the medical professionals could figure out the strangeness of this oddity.  Many years went by and the family passed on but the little girl remained in the house, with her piano.  It has been said that no one really knows what happened to the little girl but her spirit still remains within the walls of this house and with her piano.  A different family now lives in the Old Mansion.  The Piano still has a place in a new found music room.  Every October, the piano is simply decorated with a touch of seasonal charm.

If you listen closely, you can hear the little ghost girl play her enchanting music...
...and if you look very closely, you can see the sweet little faery that has become her protector, sitting quietly on the piano keys. This then ends our tale of the little ghost girl named Esther.
