Food and Friendship

This past Friday, I had the lovely opportunity to join my friend Gail for breakfast at one of our favorite local spots.  She enjoyed the Apple Pancake and I had the Egg Breakfast.  It was her treat as one of the gifts she intended to give me for Christmas/Yule.  In addition, she gifted me with some absolutely beautiful treasures too.
I share them in this video♥

Gail is a Beautiful Soul and so so Earthy....She is very connected to our Beautiful Planet and the Wheel of the Year is something that she truly follows and  lives by.  My gift to her was a book called the ~Mystic Garden~.

"A Mystic Garden is a lyrical primer on the spirituality of gardening, affirming the garden as a soulful space where people can take root and experience the changing seasons and the enduring cycle of renewal." ~courtesy of amazon.

In addition, I gifted her with a dried Rose Bud attached to it's stem that I delicately dipped in beeswax. I am hoping she places it in a Sacred Space in her home.  I love wrapping gifts too so I placed the book inside  plain white wrapping tissue, tied it with raffia. As the finishing touch, I  embellished the package with a Winter Faery Gift Tag that I created.  These tags are really lovely.  I have them available for purchase.. if you are interested, let me know.
Gail said that she loved the packaging and was super excited to read her new book. Later, I spoke with her. She said that she curled up with the book and brewed a hot cup of tea to sip while reading.
Sounds Perfect yes?
We had our first snow storm of the season on Saturday.

 Books and Tea make everything
Warm, cozy and just right!

Food and Friendship

Last Saturday, Jimi and I were invited to a friends home for dinner.  She had just recently moved into a new space.  I created a blend of Protection Salts for her and presented it to her in a lovely glass orb.  I also gifted her a Home Protection Blessing Prayer that I rolled into a scroll, then tied it with raffia and included a Witches Ball or Sweetgum Ball which is also very protective.
If you have not seen the video I filmed in regard to this gift, you can view it here:

Pictured above are the yummy cinnamon buns that I made to take for our dinner party desert.  I added edible pearls to fancy them up and symbolize the beauty and rareness of true friendship.  It was truly a great night spent with Food and Friendship.

Have a Magical Day filled with many Blessings,

Kitchen Spells...Artisan BLT Sandwiches and Pan Grilled Garden Zucchini

Hello My Friends!!!!

I am here with another Kitchen Spells Post for you....Oh my, this is super yummy and really easy to concoct!

I know you will want to give it a try so here is the recipe...from my Kitchen to Yours!

~Artisan BLT Sandwiches and Pan Grilled Garden Zucchini~
A Kitchen Spell by Dena K. Miller

Ingredients as follows:

4 slices of Italian Bread
1/2 pound of Bacon
Sliced Garden Tomatos
Sliced Red Sweet Onion
Iceberg Lettuce
Mayonnaise
Cocktail Sauce
Course Sea Salt
Cracked Pepper

For Zucchini:

One large Garden Zucchini
One Tablespoon of Garden Seasoning
Extra Virgin Olive Oil

How to:

Begin by cooking bacon.  I take the pound package and cut it in half.

Toast Bread Slices and set aside.

While the Bacon is cooking, prepare a mixture of mayonnaise and cocktail sauce.  I use about 1 tbs of each approx...now mix this together and set aside.

Slice about two small to medium garden tomato's.

Slice one small to medium Red Sweet onion.

Slice Iceberg Lettuce and use about a handful for each sandwich.

Meanwhile, cut and slice the Garden Zucchini...truth be told, it does not matter how you do this.  I happen to like mine cut in long chunks with the skin on.
Next, prepare pan with EVOO and allow to get really hot.

Once pan is hot, place Zucchini in pan, sprinkle generously with Garden Seasoning( I purchased mine at Sam's Club, but you could use any brand or kind that has a mixture of seasoned spices).

Pan grill until tender on one side then turn over.
Again, generously coat the other side with the Garden Seasoning and continue to pan grill until tender.
Remove from pan and place on a plate, cover to keep warm and set aside.

Getting back to the bacon, cook to your liking....I like mine nice and crispy! Ha...who else is with me?
drain and set aside.
Next toast the Italian Bread then smother each slice with the mayonnaise/cocktail Sauce...btw, this mixture tastes AMAZING!!!!!
Now assemble your Sandwich!
Begin by layering with the bacon, onions, tomato's and finally the lettuce on one slice of bread then top with another.
Do the same with the other two pieces of bread.
Plate your Artisan Sandwiches and add to it a side of the Pan Grilled Garden Zucchini.

Pour your favorite drink...perhaps some Jasmine Infused Iced Tea http://theenchantingworldofmiladyleela.blogspot.com/2013/08/kitchen-spellssomething-special-is.html
and enjoy your scrumptious meal that you stirred up in no time.

This Kitchen Spell Recipe serves two♥

As Always....

Kitchen Spells..Cooking Up Something Yummy!!

Hello my Dear Friends!

Tonight I came up with a recipe that is super simple and yummy!  It is also a quick meal that you can throw together for your family that incorporates four food groups. Keep in mind that if you are a vegetarian or a vegan, you can omit the meat and cheese and still enjoy this easy recipe.

Truth be told, I was inspired to create this recipe from this video:
http://youtu.be/hUI6EHtGT78
and then I changed a few things and added a few things to make it my own.  I was also inspired to post a recipe today because my friend Justina from http://labohememagique.blogspot.com/ has been posting some great recipes as of late...so I wanted to create one of my own for you here♥  On occasion, I have posted this kind of content on a Friday and call it "Foodie Friday"...but I just was too excited to wait until Friday!!!
So here you go~~~~

~Garden Pasta and Spicy Sausage Medley~
A Kitchen Spell by Dena K. Miller

Ingredients as follows:
Garden Rotini
Cherry Tomatoes
Parsley
Course Sea Salt
Crushed Black Peper
Lemon Zest
Fresh Garlic
Sweet Onions
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Spice Sausage
6 Cheese Italian Blend Shredded Cheese

How to:
Cook Pasta
while cooking pasta, chop onions and prepare garlic for pan.
Heat Pan with EVOO then brown garlic on both sides until tender.
Add onions and cook through.

Next add sausage...I like to use the links in casings and squeeze out the meat.  You can use bulk sausage if you want instead.
While this is cooking together, drain your pasta and set aside when done in a large serving bowl.
Add to the Pasta, sliced cherry tomatoes..yes do slice them in half...also add parsley, I used dried parsley but fresh would be better, if you have.

Now add the salt, pepper, cheese and Lemon Zest...I grated fresh lemon to make the zest.
Lastly, add the mixture in the pan to all of that in the bowl and mix well.  Do also include the olive oil that is in the pan as it gives additional flavor.

Finally, serve and enjoy♥

If you dare to try this recipe, please let me know...I would love to hear what you thought of it!

Much Love,
♥♥♥

Foodie Friday!

This past week, my Daughter Nikki and I spent the day together.  We had such a lovely time!!!!  We enjoyed a yummy lunch at a Pittsburgh Pa well known restaurant....Primanti Bother's.  Classically known for piling coleslaw and hand cut fries on top of a sandwich, it is truly a tasty treat for the pallet.

I had a garden burger and it was amazing!!!

My Daughter had a chicken sandwich of which she really enjoyed!
Later we went shopping and came home with some fabulous Fashion Finds from our Local Thrift Shoppe!

It was a Beautiful Day!

Much Love,
