My Umbrella, Friends and Memorable Travels

I have an obsession...I must admit!  I am really loving Umbrella's.

   My family and I recently traveled to Williamsburg Virginia.These photos above were taken at a really cool place called "The Pottery".  In Williamsburg, we had an amazing time discovering new territory.  We stayed in a time share and it was really lovely.

  Every morning, we would have our breakfast on the porch....

This was our beautiful scenery.

 Friends of ours came to stay with us for an overnight. We shared an evening of  great food and music!

 I prepared a Spaghetti and Meatball dinner for us..below is our Table setting before the meal.

We also enjoyed a nice Red Wine, a wonderful salad and a great loaf of Italian Bread.  After dinner, we sang and shared some acoustic music with Jimi playing the bongo's and Topper on guitar. Topper is responsible for the music on my blog by the way.
 Next morning, we all had breakfast together and then Topper and Bonnie headed home. They live in Virginia so we do not get to see them very often...It was truly a wonderful time getting together with our friends!

While in Williamsburg, I filmed a couple of video's.  Below is one from our discoveries at the Yankee Candle Store

 It was an amazing place and I highly recommend visiting there if you are ever in the area.

Also I filmed our bus tour through Colonial Williamsburg.  You can watch that on my Channel by visiting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdyYF_D8s0M&feature=share&list=UUlGzqOYUCDyMblyNU9NCiAQ

I hope you have had a nice time visiting me here today.  I will be back soon and until then ...

The Little Ghost Girl named Esther

There is a story to be told about an old Victorian Mansion, a piano and a little girl who once resided there.  This spooky tale begins back in the late 1800’s when Esther, the sweet little girl lived and played in this Victorian mansion.
 Her world revolved around a piano as she loved to create beautiful music.  Most of her day was centered around her piano.  In fact, she would rather play her piano than play with her dolls or even go outdoors.

  At the age of 10, her piano playing was brilliant!!! Her family was immensely intrigued! Esther could write and play musical pieces as well as perform them with an ease that was astounding!

 Her dream was to play piano forever and ever no matter what direction her life took her.  As the years went by Esther never seemed to age…her family found it quite absurd.  Not even the medical professionals could figure out the strangeness of this oddity.  Many years went by and the family passed on but the little girl remained in the house, with her piano.  It has been said that no one really knows what happened to the little girl but her spirit still remains within the walls of this house and with her piano.  A different family now lives in the Old Mansion.  The Piano still has a place in a new found music room.  Every October, the piano is simply decorated with a touch of seasonal charm.

  If you listen closely, you can hear the little ghost girl play her enchanting music...
...and if you look very closely, you can see the sweet little faery that has become her protector, sitting quietly on the piano keys. This then ends our tale of the little ghost girl named Esther.

Yummy Crock Pot Recipe And Other Random Things

It is that time of year again where the weather gets cooler and I want to spend more time in the kitchen cooking up yummy recipes!  Seems like I am usually in my kitchen anyway as my Studio Space is also there.  I while ago, I posted a video sharing my little piece of blissful heaven...you can view it here if you like:http://youtu.be/CeY29lI446w
Anyway....the Recipe that I really enjoy making is one that I have created and fed my family with a lot.....give it a try and see what you think.  It is super easy and is one that you can get ready in the morning and it will be ready for you at dinner time.  The best part is that it makes your house smell sooooo good, especially if you leave for the day and come home later.

Rosemary Pot Roast
1 tbs olive oil
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
1tsp dried rosemary
1 bay leaf
1 cup of brewed coffee
2-4 lb rump roast
For gravy:
1 -2 tbs of cornstarch or flour
Water to combine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Combine all ingredients together into a crock pot.
Cook on high for 4-6 hrs or low for 8-10 until meat is tender.
Transfer liquid from crock into a pot for the stove. Add a blend of cornstarch and water until mixed together.
Pour mixture into the liquid in pot and cook stirring constantly until thick and bubbly.
Slice roast, add gravy and serve with mashed potatoes
I have also added a few new videos to my YouTube Channel this week....visit me there to see what has been going on in my world http://www.youtube.com/miladyleela ...and for  this one where I am out and about particularly to pick up some pictures for a scrapbook project.
Hope you had a Beautiful Week....I shall leave you with this quote: Your Mind is the scrapbook of your life, fill it with beautiful ideas and memories~~Dena K. Miller
Another Autumn Recipe For Sharing
Another Autumn recipe that I always like to make is Apple Crisp.
It is super easy and can be served either as is or on top of ice cream.
Apple Crisp
3 to 4 apples cut into thin slices
1 ½ cup of instant oats
4 Tbs of brown sugar
¼ cup of flour
½ stick of butter
Mix the flour and brown sugar together until incorporated.
Grease a baking pan and place apples into pan.
Then add oats, flour and sugar mixture and top with butter.
Tip: cut butter into slices and place to cover the above ingredients.
Bake in oven at 350 degrees until hot and bubbly.
Enjoy!
Whimsy Wednesday...Pumpkin Cobbler
Now that Autumn is here, I start to think about my favorite pumpkin recipes.
This recipe for pumpkin cobbler is always a hit!  It is super easy and so yummy!!!
Pumpkin Cobbler
3 eggs beaten                                1 tsp ground ginger
15 oz can of pumpkin                    1 Tbs vanilla
12 oz can evaporated milk            1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup sugar                                     1 ¼ cup butter, melted
1/8 tsp salt                                       1 cup chopped nuts, optional
1 ½ tsp cinnamon
Mix the first 8 ingredients together; pour into an ungreased
Bundt pan.  Sprinkle cake mix over the top; drizzle with melted butter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes; top with nuts.  Bake for an additional
15 minutes.  Let cool before transferring to a cake plate.
Tip:  whether you decide to use nuts is optional; however, I have found that it may take up to 1 hour to bake this cobbler.  Check your oven, cobbler is to be slightly soft towards bottom of pan and will be more firm on top.
Serve with unlimited coffee!!!
Enjoy!
Much Love,
♥♥♥
