Food and Friendship

So....one of our favorite Chinese Restaurants is The House of Lee...it is local to us.  Our Friends Robin and Roger join us there quite often.  They like it too, obviously.   I always order Tea when I go to a Chinese place.  It just seems so appropriate.  Anyway, Jackie is the server there and she always knows exactly what we all want to eat and drink.  She takes very good care of us.

Sometimes, Roger switches it up.  He enjoys trying new things.  I however, think he does it to confuse Jackie sometimes...Tea Hee!!!!  He has an awesome sense of humor!

Jackie always remembers the drinks and food we order.  She is truly a great server!!!

Our last Food and Friendship adventure with Robin and Roger at The House of Lee was not too long ago.
We hope to get back there soon.

Do you have a special place where you gather for food and friendship?  I would love to hear about it.

Much Love,
❤❤❤

Food and Friendship is such a fabulous combination!!!!
I adore having breakfast meetings with my friends.  We chat, dream and plan for all sorts of things that together we want to accomplish.
A recent meeting with my friend Cheryl was so wonderful.  We caught up on all sorts of things and talked about future plans.  Cheryl gifted me a delightful collection of old cards to create with at our meeting.  It was such a pleasant surprise!!! I will be able to use the cards in so many projects.

Cheryl ordered a fabulou full breakfast of which I usually order also.  This time, I decided to change it up and ordered...
my next favorite thing which is oatmeal with cinnamon.  A side of milk completes the yummy cereal.
Take a peek at te video by clicking on the highlighted words below.

Food and Friendship

Last Saturday, Jimi and I were invited to a friends home for dinner.  She had just recently moved into a new space.  I created a blend of Protection Salts for her and presented it to her in a lovely glass orb.  I also gifted her a Home Protection Blessing Prayer that I rolled into a scroll, then tied it with raffia and included a Witches Ball or Sweetgum Ball which is also very protective.
If you have not seen the video I filmed in regard to this gift, you can view it here:

You can also read about the Sweetgum Ball here:

Pictured above are the yummy cinnamon buns that I made to take for our dinner party desert.  I added edible pearls to fancy them up and symbolize the beauty and rareness of true friendship.  It was truly a great night spent with Food and Friendship.

Have a Magical Day filled with many Blessings,

Kitchen Spells...Artisan BLT Sandwiches and Pan Grilled Garden Zucchini

Hello My Friends!!!!

I am here with another Kitchen Spells Post for you....Oh my, this is super yummy and really easy to concoct!

I know you will want to give it a try so here is the recipe...from my Kitchen to Yours!

~Artisan BLT Sandwiches and Pan Grilled Garden Zucchini~
A Kitchen Spell by Dena K. Miller

Ingredients as follows:

4 slices of Italian Bread
1/2 pound of Bacon
Sliced Garden Tomatos
Sliced Red Sweet Onion
Iceberg Lettuce
Mayonnaise
Cocktail Sauce
Course Sea Salt
Cracked Pepper

For Zucchini:

One large Garden Zucchini
One Tablespoon of Garden Seasoning
Extra Virgin Olive Oil

How to:

Begin by cooking bacon.  I take the pound package and cut it in half.

Toast Bread Slices and set aside.

While the Bacon is cooking, prepare a mixture of mayonnaise and cocktail sauce.  I use about 1 tbs of each approx...now mix this together and set aside.

Slice about two small to medium garden tomato's.

Slice one small to medium Red Sweet onion.

Slice Iceberg Lettuce and use about a handful for each sandwich.

Meanwhile, cut and slice the Garden Zucchini...truth be told, it does not matter how you do this.  I happen to like mine cut in long chunks with the skin on.
Next, prepare pan with EVOO and allow to get really hot.

Once pan is hot, place Zucchini in pan, sprinkle generously with Garden Seasoning( I purchased mine at Sam's Club, but you could use any brand or kind that has a mixture of seasoned spices).

Pan grill until tender on one side then turn over.
Again, generously coat the other side with the Garden Seasoning and continue to pan grill until tender.
Remove from pan and place on a plate, cover to keep warm and set aside.

Getting back to the bacon, cook to your liking....I like mine nice and crispy! Ha...who else is with me?
drain and set aside.
Next toast the Italian Bread then smother each slice with the mayonnaise/cocktail Sauce...btw, this mixture tastes AMAZING!!!!!
Now assemble your Sandwich!
Begin by layering with the bacon, onions, tomato's and finally the lettuce on one slice of bread then top with another.
Do the same with the other two pieces of bread.
Plate your Artisan Sandwiches and add to it a side of the Pan Grilled Garden Zucchini.

Pour your favorite drink...perhaps some Jasmine Infused Iced Tea http://theenchantingworldofmiladyleela.blogspot.com/2013/08/kitchen-spellssomething-special-is.html
and enjoy your scrumptious meal that you stirred up in no time.

This Kitchen Spell Recipe serves two♥

As Always....

Kitchen Spells..Cooking Up Something Yummy!!

Hello my Dear Friends!

Tonight I came up with a recipe that is super simple and yummy!  It is also a quick meal that you can throw together for your family that incorporates four food groups. Keep in mind that if you are a vegetarian or a vegan, you can omit the meat and cheese and still enjoy this easy recipe.

Truth be told, I was inspired to create this recipe from this video:
http://youtu.be/hUI6EHtGT78
and then I changed a few things and added a few things to make it my own.  I was also inspired to post a recipe today because my friend Justina from http://labohememagique.blogspot.com/ has been posting some great recipes as of late...so I wanted to create one of my own for you here♥  On occasion, I have posted this kind of content on a Friday and call it "Foodie Friday"...but I just was too excited to wait until Friday!!!
So here you go~~~~

~Garden Pasta and Spicy Sausage Medley~
A Kitchen Spell by Dena K. Miller

Ingredients as follows:
Garden Rotini
Cherry Tomatoes
Parsley
Course Sea Salt
Crushed Black Peper
Lemon Zest
Fresh Garlic
Sweet Onions
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Spice Sausage
6 Cheese Italian Blend Shredded Cheese

How to:
Cook Pasta
while cooking pasta, chop onions and prepare garlic for pan.
Heat Pan with EVOO then brown garlic on both sides until tender.
Add onions and cook through.

Next add sausage...I like to use the links in casings and squeeze out the meat.  You can use bulk sausage if you want instead.
While this is cooking together, drain your pasta and set aside when done in a large serving bowl.
Add to the Pasta, sliced cherry tomatoes..yes do slice them in half...also add parsley, I used dried parsley but fresh would be better, if you have.

Now add the salt, pepper, cheese and Lemon Zest...I grated fresh lemon to make the zest.
Lastly, add the mixture in the pan to all of that in the bowl and mix well.  Do also include the olive oil that is in the pan as it gives additional flavor.

Finally, serve and enjoy♥

If you dare to try this recipe, please let me know...I would love to hear what you thought of it!

Much Love,
♥♥♥

My Birthday Celebration

Hello there my Friends!  May 14 was my Birthday and it was a great day of celebration for me!  I wanted to share with you my day.....

First of all, I usually have a my vlogging camera with me at all times and wouldn't you know, I changed my handbag for the day and forgot to bring it!  Bummer!  Anyway, our plan was to go to a quaint restaurant up on what we call Mt, Washington. Mt. Washington for those of you that do not know is a town within our City. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Washington_%28Pittsburgh%29
We had planned on going to The Georgetown Inn http://www.georgetowneinn.net/ for lunch but things did not work out.  Usually we call ahead but Jimi and I figured that they would be open for lunch on a weekday. So.....we paid $10 to park, walked across the street to the restaurant and found out that they did not open until 5pm. Ok, we thought...change of plans....we would ride the Duquesne Incline round trip and then head back to our town to eat.  The plan was to see a movie later.
Since I did not have my camera, I took a few photo's from my cell phone.

In the building where you enter the incline car, they had one of those penny impression machines that presses your penny into a design.  we made a couple of those for keepsakes.   It was so much fun to ride the incline, we have not done that in years!!!
Heading back to our town...it was getting late so we grabbed a quick bite to eat....at Arby's...Hahaha, quite different from the original plan I'd say; but we were so hungry at this time,  the food tasted sooooo good!
Next off to the movie I had been wanting to see.....The Great Gatsby!!!! OMG!!! I can not begin to tell you how much I enjoyed every part of this movie!!!! Go see it if you have not already!  It is soooooo good!  Well, I do adore Leonardo DeCaprio!!! That had something to do with it!  Regardless, It is really a great movie http://thegreatgatsby.warnerbros.com/
If you go to see it, please let me lnow what you think!!! By the way, I must mention, for those of you that know me or follow me, you guessed it....I totally enjoyed and once again, hogged the popcorn!!!! LOL!
On the way home, Jimi and I were listening to an unfinished version to the original song "Mysterious Origin" that I wrote and we are working on in the studio.  The song would have been a perfect fit for this move...the lyrics could pertain both to Jay Gatsby and to Daisy...Ahhhhh if only we had been able to submit it to the Movie Producers...Oh well, it will be done soon.  Hopefully it will be one of those songs that people can not forget....I am thinking..."This is what you need!"

Much Love,

Foodie Friday!

This past week, my Daughter Nikki and I spent the day together.  We had such a lovely time!!!!  We enjoyed a yummy lunch at a Pittsburgh Pa well known restaurant....Primanti Bother's.  Classically known for piling coleslaw and hand cut fries on top of a sandwich, it is truly a tasty treat for the pallet.

I had a garden burger and it was amazing!!!

My Daughter had a chicken sandwich of which she really enjoyed!
Later we went shopping and came home with some fabulous Fashion Finds from our Local Thrift Shoppe!

It was a Beautiful Day!

Family Time

This past Wednesday, Jimi and I took his Mom(my Mom-In -Law) to a doctor appointment. After her appointment, she suggested that we have lunch which was an unexpected surprise!!! So...we went to one of her favorite hometown diners and shared lunch time together.   It was so yummy!!!
Mom had this...

Jimi enjoyed a Bacon,Lettuce and Tomato sandwich with cheese and cucumbers

...and I had scrambled eggs with potato's,Bacon and Italian Bread toast...LOL, it looks like I had a huge plate of bacon...should have arranged my plate better for you to see...oh well, it was very yummy and you get the point...tee hee!

After lunch, we went shopping... Mom took us to a new store in her town that sells all kinds of stuff at inexpensive prices...they have it all, clothes,  jewelry,  housewares...etc! and I found this!  I have to say, Delicious Leopard Pillow!!!!  It was only Ten Dollars!!!!!What a bargain!!!!

After shopping, we had a bit of a scare....we were loading our purchases in the van when Mom started to take a fall.  Jimi was already in the drivers seat,  I was next to Mom...When I saw her starting to fall, I fortunately caught her!  Whew! That was a close one.....so glad she did not fall!   Mom is 85 and is gong to be 86 in May.  She is just the cutest!!!! A while ago, she and I went Thrift Shopping together.  I filmed a video about what we purchased and our time together...

I just love Family Time!!!!
