Tutorial Tuesday and A New Nail Look of the Day

Hello there! Today is Tuesday and I have a tutorial to share with you. I have not really given this project a name but the finished product is a frame like creation that you can either hang or place on a picture easel.

Lets Begin!

Materials needed:
Clean Jar lid
Photocopied picture
Glue Stick
All Purpose Glue
Glitter
Paint Brush or paint sponge
Hot glue sticks
Hot Glue gun
Small ribbon roses
Faux pearls
Diamond Glaze

Using the jar lid as a template, cut your picture to fit the inside part of the lid.
glue picture in place using the glue stick and press to secure.
Next apply a thin coat of Diamond glaze with a small paint brush or paint sponge(this product
will make your picture appear as it has a glass finish.)
Apply several thin coats one at a time of the Diamond Glaze. Let dry between each coat. Determine how shiny you want the picture to look and continue to apply the Diamond Glaze until the look you want is achieved.

Next, apply a thin coat of all purpose glue to the back of the lid and sprinkle glitter to cover. Let dry.
Now apply the small ribbon roses and faux pearls using the hot glue gun to the outer rim of the jar lid.
Complete by hot gluing a cord to the back of lid or simply place in a picture easel for display.

....and there you have it!

Also a new nail look of the day using Petites Nail Polish color "Baby Blue" and a glitter polish by L.A. Colors "Starlight" on the ring finger.

Give them a try.....I would love to see your finished projects and Nails of the Day.

Have a beautiful week!

Much Love,

Vintage Hair Rollers and a New Video

I hope everyone has had a good week! I have been super busy with work and the Band but managed the time to film a new video for you. This time; with a friends, help, I found a new setting on my camera. I can now say that my videos will be more in focus and you will be able to read product labels and see better close ups. Yay!!!! The lighting is still a little weird but I think it may be the camera. I am still trying to figure that one out. Anyway, I wanted to share with you a picture of my hot roller set.

I have had this set since I was 16 years old. Oh my gosh, that is so hard to believe!!!!! Yeah, in the 1980's my parents bought this for me. So yeah, it is vintage!!!! It still works like a charm and I am only missing two clips in all those years. I'd say that is amazing!!!
Last night, I used it to roll my hair for our Band Gig. I love the volume it gives to my hair and the curls are so pretty. If you have not tried hot rollers, I truly recommend them. I think you will like what it does to your hair too.
Also, I wanted to share my latest video that has been posted to my Youtube Channel..it includes information on cosmetic products, nail polishes and hair rollers.

Please subscribe to my channel too if you have not yet. I would really appreciate it. I am really loving being able to share information through that vessel as well as here on my blog.

I hope to be back very soon with a fun project tutorial for you and a new nail look.

Much Love,

♥♥♥

A Golden Feather and Water for Elephants

I was recently at one of my favorite Thrift Shoppe's and found this lovely brooch.
A golden feather with rhinestones. It is truly lovely, I am so glad that I found it. I think it will look nice with a lot of my cardigans or on my navy pea coat. Hmmm, I may even attach it to one of my handbags. So many possibilities I say! Also, I am planning on doing another Haul soon that you will be able to watch on my Youtube Channel. It will be regarding the cosmetics and nail polishes that I recently purchased. I hope to be able to create this video soon. Of course, I will link it here when it is ready.

Last Night, Jimi and I were invited to attend an inaugural dinner for the Mayor in a nearby town. The event was really nice. Later in the evening we rented a movie and snuggled in. We watched "Water for Elephants." My, my, my, what a beautiful movie...so many emotional twists and turns.

If you have not seen it, I recommend it. Let me know what you think about it if you have and if not, please let me know your thoughts after you see it. I just loved it, I could write an entire post on my thoughts about it!!! Anyway, for now, I must scoot. I will be back soon!

Much Love,

Yellow Reminds Me of The Sunshine

A new nail look already.....can you tell I am obsessed with nail polish?
This time I am wearing a beautiful yellow color by Sally Hansen that is called Mellow Yellow.

Once again, I have a glitter polish over it. Finally it is sealed with the Mega Shine Top Coat. If you have watched my latest Nail Tutorial video, this look is achieved the same way but using a lighter color instead. The link to the video is below:

It is kind of funny because I never thought that I would like yellow on my nails. I have seen other people wear it and thought that it looked nice on them but I did not think I would ever wear it . Lately, I have been seeing this color reviewed by some of the people I follow on YouTube. I gave it some thought and decided that I would not really know how I felt about it until I tried it myself. I have to tell you, I am so glad that I did. I absolutely adore it!!!!! Yes, the glitter is a must for me too. Since I have worn this color, I have received so many compliments. Give it a try if you have not, you may just surprise yourself. By the way, the color yellow reminds me of the sunshine and that.....makes me smile. Yeah, do try it I think it will make you smile too!
One last thing...I just want to share one of our Band Posters.

It is yellow, so yeah, I thought it would be appropriate to share today.
Much Love,
