DIY Headband Display Project~Miladyleela

Take a little journey with me as I share how I turn trash into treasure.

I am so loving how this turned out!~
It all started with an empty CD container...the kind you buy at an office supply store.
I am all about recycling so of course I had to create something with the container.

I encourage you to give this one  try.
Much Love,
❤❤❤

P.S.  The additional video's I had mentioned I would do did not happen as planned so instead I posted the pics in this blog.  If you are interested in a step by step class, I would be more than happy to create one for you.  Please keep in mind that there would be a $40 fee for my class tutorial. You can email me at miladyleela@gmail if you are interested.

Whimsy Wednesday

I had to share some pictures of our day trip yesterday....My Hubby and I had such a delightful time browsing through all the interesting shoppe's and boutiques. The humming bird tree above was so sweet and magical.

...and look at this chair and pillows, Oh how I would love to have them in my home.

Check out this chair and ottoman set...it is made out of recycled newspaper and magazines. We sat in it to test it's comfort ability. It was so surprisingly comfortable and yet another group of furnishings that I would love to have in my home. Wow, I say...talk about recycling and reusing. I love that!!!!!! So darn creative too!!!

One more thing that I want to share today is this nail tutorial that I came across.....super cool! I can not wait to try it on my own nails. I plan on it, so I will have to post pictures of that for you in the near future.

Much Love,

Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse and Still Going Green

The other day I went thrifting!!!! Yay, I found so many cute things. I love the idea of recycle, reuse and repurpose so my experience was just the perfect cocktail to make my day! I came home with some cool vintage beaded jewelry, several dresses and wicker baskets for Easter. Of course I could bead my own jewelry but it is so much fun to have such vintage pieces that once belonged to someone else. Once again, my love of recycling prevails.

Earth Day will be here soon and with that in mind, I am still thinking Green.

I am still wearing a Green nail polish and a sparkly glitter as a top coat. So sorry that I do not have a picture to post of it. I have been trying to upload it for hours and have been having some problems. I promise to post the picture if I can get it to upload. Geesh, I have no idea what happened with this picture! The others were so simple to post.

Lastly, I want to mention that there were auditions in Pittsburgh this last weekend for the show “The X-Factor” which is coming to fox TV this fall. Our Band had an audition and we were selected to go to the next round in Chicago with a golden ticket to perform for the show’s Producers. If we make the Chicago audition, we will be on the show competing with the other's selected. Simon Cowell will be a judge for the show! So totally cool!!!! Whatever the outcome; we, The Sidewinder Band is so honored to be chosen!

I will be keeping you posted….and if we do make the show, please watch!!!! Your support will be greatly appreciated! You can check out our Band site @ http://www.thesidewinderband.com

Go Green!

I found this really neat color of Green nail polish and wanted to share it with you!

Spring is here!!!! In honor of that, I have done my nails in this color and have added gold glitter on top for added detail.

I think it looks really nice…although green nails may not be your thing. I also found a great nail tutorial on how to do a “Strawberry Nails” technique. I cannot wait to try that! Below is the video.

With spring time now in our corner, it is time to think about rebirth, going green and thinking about making our world a better place. Plant some flowers or grow a garden, start something new! The sun is shining and you can make a difference on this earth…..reuse, recycle, make less waste, be creative and most importantly, take good care of yourself! The world is truly a beautiful place.

Much love,

Shrug Your Shoulders

Last evening my Hubby and I went out. We had a really nice time. I decided to wear a shrug that I had created from a sweater that was thrifted quite some time ago. It is an old Navy striped sweater that I recycled. Thought that I would share it with you.

This was such an easy project. Materials are a sweater, a pair of scissors and a sewing machine. Really a sewing machine may not even be required depending on the sweater type. My sweater was 100% wool and did not require sewing. I could have done a lettuce edging by sewing a zig zag stitch around the raw edge…but I chose not to. I think it looks good with the raw edge exposed. Anyway, this is a super easy project and is a great way to keep your shoulders warm. Give it a try….find a great sweater and create something new to wear.

Much Love,
